Our biggest villains here are the wild blackberry, many varieties. You are to be commended for tackling this huge job! Jerri

You do have an abundance of vine wreath materials. Have you considered opening up you wood to the gardenclub to collect vines for Christmas wreaths? Let you friends do some of the work. LOL.

Sorry, my heart goes out to you.

Hi Jerri,

So I have gathered from other PNW gardeners. It seems that the assorted wild brambles in your area are rampant pests that really take over. One I have, and I'm not exactly certain which, seems to have some kind of irritant in its prickles...do you ever find that in the ones in your area?

It's impossible to clear brambles or wild roses without getting scratched - even in long sleeves - but one session with a real thicket left me with scratches that turned black and blue..didn't hurt any more than most, but my arms sure looked like I'd been through the wars! Found that most odd and, of course, didn't know who the culprit was as that was a mixed lot.

Hi Wesley,

Well, I sure do! In fact, have made use of the wild grape vines myself in past years in making wreaths - no shortage of material:-)

Had not thought of anyone being interested in them, but would certainly be happy to have anybody who wanted grape vine come get all they can haul!

Thanks for the sympathy!
