It's not supposed to be hardy here, so doesn't get as vigorous and uncontrollable as it might. And I just put in a beautiful clump of Farghesia nitida behind the pond. I ordered that, bu the way, from Northern Groves, which is one of the links in your article. The price was about 1/3 what I've seen it for elsewhere, and the plant is already huge! My major problem is where on earth to put them!Marge -- posted by Marge_Talt » Carol Wallace - Given the winter we just had, I suspect mine will finally begin Given the winter we just had, I suspect mine will finally begin to spread a bit this year -- so if you figure out where to put it, I'll send you some. The ones I was really drooling over were the clumping bamboos.I've wanted those for years, but normally they have been incredibly expensive. I found an online nursery last year that wanted $35 for a 4" pot! So you can imagine how I leapt when Northern Grove wanted less than that for a 5 gallon pot! I also have A golden Phyllostachys - Robert Young, and a couple dwarfs in gold and green and also in greenand white. Wish I could grow the Sasa here. ;-( Carol virtually gardening -- posted by Carol Wallace
