» Carol Wallace - Mind reading

<img SRC="http://www.suite101.com/files/topics/75/..." align=left> Believe it or not, I took this picture just yesterday, meaning to ask what on earth it was, since I had no memory of planting it. But I guess I don't need to set up a guessing game, since you have answered it here. And you're right - as a lone plant it isn't terribly gardenworthy. It sprawls and gets lost in other things and the flowers don't make much of an impact - I can't figure out a way to integrate it into the plantings and make it (or the rest of the plantings) look good. Maybe I can let it sprawl somewhere besides a garden bed, as a sort of speciment.

BTW - I have C. integrifolia. And you're right - it's lovely. And it flowered continuously (if not profusely) for about three months.

BTW - I have C. integrifolia

» Marge_Talt - mental telepathy

LOL Carol....that is mental telepathy:-) You know, I got that originally because it was being hyped as such a great plant. I'd never seen it in the flesh before I bought it, so thought perhaps I simply was not appreciating it fully.

But, with time, I verily do believe it is one of those plants that nurseries (and then various garden writers) decide to promote, but that are not real stand outs in the garden.

Perhaps it is a plant who needs to be in a large group of same to make any impact...I simply don't know as I don't have space to devote to that experiment.
