» Marge_Talt - prongs up

Hey Mark!

Welcome to Gardening in Shade! Super to have you on board...guess you got tired waiting for me to ans. your last and decided to hunt me down in my lair :-) Promise I'll write soon - been trying to find where I put the name of that shrub first...put it in a really safe place, it appears.

Well, I haven't grown this, but I did find a nice page of cultural information done by the Pukekohe Research Centre on Sandersonia aurantiaca. Here's a quote that answers your question: "Sandersonia grows from a forked tuber with two growing points; each growing point develops a single shoot and roots. After shoot development, a new tuber (daughter tuber) is formed." So plant your prongs up.
