» desertblue - Merry Christmas Chris! Just doing my part to revive older articles on my favorite sites in the spirit of Christmas. I loved this one. Contact is one of my favorite movies; I even own it, and it still makes me cry every time I watch it. (I even hosted a Contact Party the night of the Leonids Shower so my friends and I could try to stay up for the event!)I love the message: That of all the billions of civilizations and years of time, that all we've ever really found out there is each other. Sends chills. Along the theme of this series, I also thought Apollo 13 was a pretty amazing movie, all the more so because the story is true. Triumph over adversity.
