Christopher,

I know you online and thought I'd stop by. This is a very well-written, informative article. I was not aware of this genre. I read some SF but this is new to me. Thanks for opening my eyes to another area.

In response to message posted by cmborris:

Thanks for dropping by, Cynthia. It will be interesting to see how Christian SF progresses overall. Firebird is an excellent read and I am sure that you would enjoy it. But since it was originally written as a straight SF novel and then reworked for Bethany House, it is easier for it to be subtle in its message.

I mentioned briefly the Left Behind series. This is a much more heavy-handed approach to religion through fiction, and as that series goes on it gets heavier and heavier -- and the storyline becomes less interesting. I have another book from Bethany House that I will be reviewing soon entitled Oxygen. This book may be a better test for the subgenre than Firebird is.

I hope you'll drop by again and join in more discussions. Thanks again for the compliments.
