After watching Galaxy Quest, I can say that I was satisfied with the special effects. The Cutting room used well done computer animation that had the audience feel the intenseness of the pounding of the cutters, and the understanding that they were all around. The large rock monster seemed to be an overdone character, and the animation made him appear to be almost bouncy, as apposed to hard, and crumbly, as a rock actually would be. Without the sound effects, it would not have been believable as made out of rock. Considering this movie had to mix the special effects elements of a sci-fi movie, with the cleverness of a comedy, it was well done.
