Info Regarding Sci-f

When I was very, very young, I saw part of a movie on television.

It was science fiction. There were people, all relatvively young on a space ship. No-one grew old, as when they started to grow old, they were put into stasis or something. Children could see them in display cases.

Anyways, a male character had to go to a planet, he brough a female crew member. Their was an accident on the planet, the male character was saved, but the female was lost. They found her years later, but - GASP - she was older!!!! The guy was still young and he could not handle being around the older version of his old friend.

It was at this point that my mum turned off the TV and told me to go to bed.

Again, I can't remember the year or the actors names or anything, except what described. I am pretty sure that it was the late seventies or maybe 1980 or 1981.

It was not "Logan's Run" I was directed to this movie by my husband as it has to do with aging, but this movies description does not match.

If anyone out there can give me some information on my mystery movies - I would really appreciate it.
