.jpg relates to graphics..an image or still picture. .gif relates to an animation. The preceding word is the name you give it. Eg: 'digger.gif' for that little fella with the spade I once had.

You should have them all stored in your suite101 home page...like a library list with boxes in front you need to tick to activate. The home page allows you to import them from your hard drive or other drive eg CD or floppy disk to store them within suite101. From there, you transfer them to your topic's posts or home page displays.

I had many gifs stored that I added to my posts in the past. But the problem you have is that it's all disconnected somehow...and that's where my understanding starts to fizzle. They're either still saved in your hard drive and you can't access them OR import them to suite101 OR they're in suite101 and you can't activate them...maybe the tick is all that's gone???

Hope this makes sense. Your friendly editor staff should be able to give you the step by steps needed. This was also spelt out in the home page but I no longer have one.
