(I>doona--I am guessing this is a sleeping bag or some sort of bedding--because I could not find anything any more specific at Google.

When I go to the bookstore today I will see if they have the Hypochondriac's Handbook. I'd love to go through it. You know, it sounds suspicious when someone says, "I have a friend (or relative) who. . .," but I actually do have a relative who is neurotic. She has more anxieties and phobias than I could begin to list. But then, it's better to be neurotic than psychotic, huh? Dubh

Here'a link to the handbook with synopsis:

I also have an older book called 'Some Doctors Make You Sick'with less levity.

» _Boanerges_ - Restless Leg Syndrome

Hi Virginia....
Never heard of 'restless leg syndrome'...
When I first saw the title of this article, I thought it was about being restless or something like that... Some of the symptoms you described, such as ice on the teeth, etc, surely brought home what the conditions must be like.. Very interesting article... More interesting are the remedies to help resolve it some, such as move, move, move.....

hmm..??.. you think? I will ask her tonight and see what she sayssmile

Aren't you glad you are still youngish?

..lol.. certainly this is relative!! Of course, I do understand what you mean, and yes, I suppose that I am glad that I am still 'youngish'... However, I have arrived to the point of realizing that my mortality is limited, that my youth (as it were) is all but a memory and that my days are numbered.... Indeed, this brings the realization that life is a true gift and that without hope, there is nothing but vanity and vexation of the spirit. I thank our Lord for not giving up on me, and basically pushed me through that strait gate......

You sounded like the Preacher there for a bit with vanity. What was it he said? "Vanity is vanity. . ." or something like that.

A true gift life is, to be sure, and how precious to hold on to. Perhaps that is why we change our priorities as we age--because we see, finally, what is really important in life.

What is your "Strait Gate" blog URL? It is a nice read for Seniors with lots of motion in it.

He did indeed...... Ecclesiastes
1:2 Vanity of vanities, saith the Preacher, vanity of vanities; all is vanity.
1:14: I have seen all the works that are done under the sun; and, behold, all is vanity and vexation of spirit.

I think chapter 6 explains why, quite well...

A true gift life is, to be sure, and how precious to hold on to. Perhaps that is why we change our priorities as we age--because we see, finally, what is really important in life.

So true.... unlike those who are on an endless search of wisdom and knowledge, as the Preacher has explained.. As for those who are truly born again, it is said that, we have, a peace that passes all understanding.. This is an experience that cannot be denied...

In response to Re: Re: Re: Re: Restless Leg Syndrome posted by _Boanerges_:

Well, I cured myself of RLS not through anything I read or heard but by fluke. I realized that North American food is terribly deficient in magnesium because magnesium gets leached out of the soil by water, and in North America, produce is watered too much, so the magnesium gets flushed out of the soil. I have been taking chelated magnesium tablets which are the form in which it appears in plants and a form which does not interfere with good digestion, because it does not neutralize digestive acids.

Well, the magnesium supplementation took care of my constant cramps as well as of the RLS. Both have completely disappeared. I have since then researched the the problem from a holistic outlook and found that the problem can also be caused by other mineral deficiencies. For people who use sodium chloride table salt, for example, it could be a potassium deficiency. I never use that kind of salt, so I would not have that problem.

I also suspect that a vitamin B6 deficiency could be a problem as it is for most neurological disorders, and any produce displayed under lights in grocery stores has the B6 destroyed, because B6 needs darkness to survive. I always ask for produce which is still in brown bags in the back when I shop.

Very true. It has been established that a mineral defficiency is certainly one cause of restless leg syndrome. You are very fortunate that your problem was aced so quickly. Thanks for your interesting post, Traute. (Traute is having some computer problems, and asked me to post her discussion entry for her.)
