It is my pleasure to welcome my guest author, Traute Klein, whose article exemplifies "Seniors on the Move." Traute's innovative ideas, to provide movement and quality of life for her mother, are an inspiration to Seniors, their families, and their caregivers.

Traute,

What a loving daughter you were for your mother always. Not only did she maintain her ability to travel, but also to be treated with dignity and respect.

My heart swells with the understanding of the gift of independence you afforded an aging woman. Brava!

» biogardener - Confidence based on trust

That is a great way of putting it, "The Gift of Independence." That gift, of course, is based on acceptance, trust, and a lifetime of love. When any of my siblings tried to do something for or with my mother, she would ask for my approval first, because she did not trust them to the same extent.

She knew I would choose what was best for her. Late in life, she once said, "You are the only one of my children who has never lied to me."
