» Jonty - DC piracy

y'know Paul, what peepl dont realise [excuse my typing briefness - i'm a one handed typer! -] is that if you buy a bootleg game you're shooting yourself in the foot, as it's unsellable; it loses 80% of it's "value" when bought. Why?

1 peepl don't want to buy a title with no instructions. Imagine buying Gunship2000 or Silent Service II without the extensive and luxuriant materials that come with it, pretty useless huh?

2. who wants a pile of plastic cd envelopes with "shenmue disc 1, 2, 3", etc wrtitten on them cluttering up a bookshelf? OK so the DC cd boxes are not standard size [why?!], but ther'e far more handsome and easy to find

3 the money is not going back to the developers for new game reinvestment.

OK i'm going to admit it here: yes i use bootleg icrosoft Windows software, why? well its an effective boycott - £40-200 for Win98SE to XP is ludicrous, especially when thier not programmed tightly and efficiently nor stable.

When ms bring down the prices of thier OSes to less than£40 WITH decent manuals THEN i'll stop using copies, and you can quote me on that, fairs fair.
