Infoseek lets you ask a question, just like you'd ask a person. As a matter of fact, it works better when you do. Instead of just typing keywords, ask it what you want to know. Its ability to understand full questions is a definitely a big help to new users. Excite's big advantage is its ability to easily narrow a search. Its "more like this" option after each result actually performs a search for documents similar to the one you like.
