<img src="/files/topics/902/files/lilyvalley60x122.gif" width=60 height=122 alt="Lily of the valley" align=right>My very favorite person in the world celebrated her birthday one day before you on May 8, my mother, and she never had a birthday party until I started hosting them for her. She was always too busy preparing for the church Mother's Day concert which she used to put on with the Sunday school children. She was obviously happier to give than to receive.

I am sending you the German flower emblem for May, lily of the valley. They are called "little May bells" in German. Here in Winnipeg, they won't bloom until June, though. Their first leaves are just pushing through the ground now.

This may well be your last birthday party at Suite101, because you have resigned, but right now you are still with us, so may you enjoy your birthday, Mother's Day, and the whole next year!
