» agustinongpinoy - The Bible Polls I still don't know how the results of the Bible Polls will look like. It will close on October 18, 2001 so until then I wouldn't know whether the Letter to the Romans or Galatians and Ephesians will come out. I know that writing this article somehow preempts the results of the poll. Sorry about that. I just had to come out with an article on October 1.-- posted by agustinongpinoy » rahunter_nf - Nice Introduction to Sampling St. Paul Nice introductions to the letters of Paul in general and to Galatians, Alberto. I've placed a link to "Sampling St. Paul: Looking Into The Letter To The Galatians" on my Pauline Studies bulletin board, and I'm looking forward to your articles on Galatians.-- posted by rahunter_nf » agustinongpinoy - Re: Nice Introduction to Sampling St. Paul In response to message posted by rahunter_nf:Thanks for the link. But I am surprised that you already saw the article. I was hoping to have it fine tuned yet for October 1 yet. Any case, thank you for the note. Do you think that "The Gospel of God's Liberating Love" is an apt title for the doctrinal part of Galatians? I was rechecking the vocabulary used by Paul and I am now having my doubts. If you have any comments on this, just post. Thanks again. -- posted by agustinongpinoy » rahunter_nf - Re: Re: Nice Introduction to Sampling St. Paul In response to message posted by agustinongpinoy:But I am surprised that you already saw the article. I was hoping to have it fine tuned yet for October 1 yet. The discussion of it that you started with your "The Bible Polls" message appeared in What's New?, and the discussion included a link to the article. Do you think that "The Gospel of God's Liberating Love" is an apt title for the doctrinal part of Galatians? I was rechecking the vocabulary used by Paul and I am now having my doubts. Although it's a catchy title, I agree that it may not be entirely suitable, love's not being referred to in the section. Perhaps you could change "God's Liberating Love" to something like "Liberation from the Law." -- posted by rahunter_nf » agustinongpinoy - The Gospel of God's Liberating Love In response to message posted by rahunter_nf:The only passage that really points to "Love" in Galatians is Gal. 2:20: "...the Son of God who loved (agaphsantoV me, in the participle form) me and gave himself up for me." In the following verse, that love is identified with the "grace of God." (v.21). This statement is carried on in the doctrinal part of Galatians by virtue of 3:1 ("Before your very eyes Christ was portrayed as crucified..."). And Christ crucified will be one of the major arguments of Paul in setting forth his gospel in 3:13-14). But I won't force the issue -- even I am disatisfied with the title. Perhaps I can leave that for a discussion in the next article. Thanks for responding. -- posted by agustinongpinoy » rahunter_nf - Re: The Gospel of God's Liberating Love In response to message posted by agustinongpinoy:Your explanation has persuaded me that "Paul's Gospel of God's Liberating Love" is not only a catchy title but also a suitable title for Galatians 3:1-4:31. I'm looking forward to your future articles on Galatians. -- posted by rahunter_nf » Willa90 - Re: The Gospel of God's Liberating Love In response to message posted by agustinongpinoy:Dear Father Abet, -- posted by Willa90 » agustinongpinoy - Letter To Galatians, part 2 If you are still interested on how this article ends, please go to http://www.nossumus.net/biblista/main.sh...
