» silvan - Catching up

This reads like a letter home, Keith! Thanks for the interesting info.

The amazing thing is what a beautiful month this November has been in Ontario. After a rainy October, we've had several weeks of bright, mild weather. It's been a pleasure for me as I recommit myself to the habit of morning walks.

This morning as I marvelled at the rich embroidery of frost on goldenrod clusters, I thought of you, and remembered, "I've got to read that article about the Great Lakes!" I've been busy, but it's high time I caught up.

I guess the Great Lakes have given us a reprieve this year, and fond as I am of blue skies, I can't say I mind.

Cheers!

Thanks Van,

Be sure to catch the second in the series on Great Lakes snows. Much of Canada has had a very warm autumn season. Rain has returned to us in Victoria but the water levels are still down and restrictions continue. They say we need 13 rainy weeks out of the next 17 to consider lifting restrictions.

Given the mild start to the fall in the Great Lakes region, it is hard to believe it was a year ago that Buffalo got buried. A friend who lives in Chicago said her garden was still green giving a great contrast to the autumn colours.

Enjoy those walks while you can, I am sure winter is just around the corner.
