» Tina_Coruth - Sounds like a good year in science!

Hi Brandon,

It sounds as though you will have a very interesting year in science. What a great array of topics - human body, animals, weather clusters and nature. I'm glad that you will help Grandma Mary write about these topics as you learn them. I am looking forward to reading about them. I love learning about science. This is a terrific article - thank you!

Tina,

Brandon tried to come online earlier today and we have either his username or password wrong. We will figure it out somehow. I think I know his username but am not sure about the password. If he can't answer you within a couple of days, I will update you on the exciting news. smile

Hi Brandon. I enjoyed reading your article. It helped me to remember the things I studied in school a long time ago and I've always loved science. When I grew up I became a lab technician and I think it's so fascinating to learn about how the body works. Learning about nature, animals and weather is also fun. I think you will have a great time studying science this year!

Tina and Joy,

Brandon is still not able to get online, so I will tell you about his exciting science class. He was really excited last Thursday and called me when he came home from school. He looked at onion cells through a microscope. He said they looked kind of like honeycomb. Very interesting. I hadn't ever really though specifically about onions having cells. However, when you think of it, all living things have cells, even onions. smile

Thank you for the update, Mary! I bet Brandon is having a great time discovering the world through a microscope. It sounds very interesting and a lot of fun!

Tina,

A couple of years ago, Santa brought Brandon a microscope, but he didn't use it that much. Now, he is very interested in what he can view with it. This is just what Brandon needed. A teacher who makes learning fun and Mrs. Stewart is a teacher who does just that.

Working in the lab, we always look at different things just for fun but never thought of looking at onion cells. smile I've seen a hair and they are not as smooth as you would think.

Joy,

Looking at a hair under a microscope would be interesting, as would looking at onion cells. Brandon's teacher is awesome and tries hard to keep the kids interested. He received an award on Friday for having no homework so far this term. That's great incouragement. smile
