Hi Mary,

This is a great idea for a bird treat! Do you have a problem with squirrels when you hang this out?

I love the coloration of Juncos and their pink beaks sure make it easy to identify them. Last spring we had quite a few. They are wonderful to watch!

What a pretty graphic!

Tina,

I feed the squirrels peanuts, which I toss out on the ground, so they seldom bother the feeder. They prefer peanuts in the shell to birdseed. smile

Juncos are beautiful. We seldom see them here. I wish we had more. They are beautiful. I hope they return to your area this spring.

Thanks for stopping by and opening the discussion thread this week. I appreciate your support and friendship.

Thanks Mary for this timely article for a Sunday morning read. My wife was wondering about how to make one of these feeders and here you are with the SuiteSolution. While we may not attract any Juncos in Abbotsford BC we will see some other feathered friends enjoy it.I fondly remember the Juncos in Ontario when I was growing up.

Doug,

How nice to see you here. This feeder is simple to make and I'm sure that you and your wife will attract some beautiful birds to your yard once it is up. You can find Suite answers to all your questions at Suite101. smile

When I was a kid, Juncos used to be seen often. Today, a sighting is rare.

Thanks for dropping by. I appreciate your visit and am glad you enjoyed the article. Let me know if your wife puts up one of the feeders and if so, what birds visit it.
