The life of Benjamin Franklin has intrigued me since I was very young. I guess because I shared his never-ending curiosity and sense of adventure. I remember my brother and I trying to surf in the creek on a piece of barnboard. smile Well, we both got wet! LOL But trying was fun.

I'm glad you enjoyed this small article on Benjamin Franklin. I could write about him for weeks and still not cover every aspect of his life.

It's great you provide a link to the inventor's contest. I have a cousin who is an inventor, but certainly too old to compete in this!

I specifically searched until I found that link. I know about the contest from seeing it covered on the news. I do hope that some see it who can pass along the info to kids. Where is Max? I wish he'd drop by and find out about this. I'm sure he has some friends or classmates who might be interested - maybe even his teacher.

Hi. I'm still here, but I haven't had a lot of time because my great grandmother is sick and I have been visiting her a lot. The Craftsman contest is the one that I won the $10,000 bond in 2003. I try to enter a lot of invention contests. I didn't enter the one bkfk because it was just for toy inventions, and I couldn't think of anything special. I sent some inventions to a site in Canada called inventivekids.com, but I haven't heard anything from them. I think inventing is a lot of fun.

I'm glad that you've been inventing things and entering contests. Wow! a $10,000 will really help with your education when you get older. I always try to encourage kids to do something extraordinary. Max, who posted above, has many talents. I'm sure other kids all over the world are interested in inventing. Brandon is especially interested in animation and I encourage him in all of his dreams. I've spoken to the boys' school on following your dreams. After all, I may not be a world famous author, but my childhood dream of becoming a published author came true. If I can do it, anyone can.
