Frustration of finding a Campgrounds

» donnpat - Looking for campgrounds last minute
Its monday and I just got word that an unplanned move is giving me a Friday off, Yeah. Now to find a campground for my 32 ft Motorhome - in the next four days. Worse yet my wife wants an ocean or lakeview. I hit the web, call 15 or 20 state parks, and the like - naturally everythings booked solid till November. I finally find a place and its like 3 times the price of a state campgrounds. Worse yet is I usually can't take Friday off and more and more campgrounds are insisting on minimum 2 day stay for weekend reservations so usually I'm out of luck. Any suggestions for some one who has to work(for a while at least) but love to go weekend camping? short of just wasting 1 night costs.-- posted by donnpat
