» KevinK_4 - What setup is best for long trailers?

I am curious to know what level of results other people have experienced after purchasing some form of sway control equipment. I have recently purchased a 35 foot Holiday Rambler and pull it with a full size Dodge Ram with extended cab and short bed. The trailer is unruly after 55 mph with any provocation. We have leveler bars on an EZ-lift hitch already.

» LilyLamb_WV - Kevin, did you get an answer to your question?

We would like to know more about this, too. We have in mind a 33 foot travel trailer and a Dodge Dakota, four door with short bed. Hubby was wondering if the long bed would be better.

Hope someone has an answer for this before we invest and that you are able to remedy your situation.

» geomiklas - your unruly trailers

I am pulling a 25' 4400# GVW trailer with a 138" wheel base van which is 5000# empty. I don't have any problems with sway at 60 and even 65 mph. My hitch is simply a Reese weight distribution hitch with 750# bars.

I don't know the specs on your respective trucks, but I think that if your tow vehicle is too light or too short, the trailer will overpower it either by sway or by pushing the truck.

Kevin:
I have the same problem. I have a 31' TT with a super slide. I pull it with a Ford Expedition. I have looked into purchasing a Hensley Arrow Hitch. They say they will stop the sway or your money back. Their website is www.nosway.com. I have not purchased the hitch yet. Would like to know if anyone else may have any information about the hitch?

Thanks,
