RV DEALERS:Don't want to hear from after the sale.

» MORETON - RV Dealers:Who do not want to hear from you after the sale We bought our third trailer, a fifthwheel from a dealer in Tulsa, Ok, Feb 2002, brand new so we thought. They had our trailer for 2 weeks after we paid for it, which was BIG mistake, when we called for an appointment were told the trlr was ready, being in February, we didn't think too much about it not being cleaned on the outside, but it was not cleaned or detailed, including a used trlr jack on the right front, we filled out a form they sent to us wanting our opinion of their service, which took some gall, we told how dirty the trlr was, etc, but we did not realize that they had not serviced the air conditioning, converter was not working, bed was very cheaply built, and started to come apart with little use, we found out the converter was not working when we arrived in South Dakota and the battery was ruined. We called this dealer for a list of dealers in So Dakota, were told they didn't have any lists, we replaced the battery, after talking to the manufacture about the warranty, after we were in Gillett, WY, we realized the converter was not working, one dealer in Casper, WY, refused to replace the converter because we did not buy our unit from them, we live in NE Oklahoma, air conditioner wouldn't cool properly in over 100 degrees in Utah, dealer told us to take the unit to Wichita, KS when we ask them if we could bring the trlr by on our way home, which was right on the way home, this is when we told to take it to Kansas. Trlr is a 26'3 JAYCO FW, dealer has been in business for many years, one the reasons we were surprised at their attitude, have since found out they have a BAD reputation. -- posted by MORETON » GLEN_BARRY - Re: RV Dealers:Who do not want to hear from you after the sale In response to message posted by MORETON:I am sure that there a million stories out there. It seems that most people that are writing about thRVsVs and the lifestyle tend to avoid the negatives. I think the negatives for one person can help others avoid the same mistakes. -- posted by GLEN_BARRY
