Convection Oven Cooking: First time RV convection cooking

We just bought a Rv that has a convection /micowave oven. I tried to bake biscuits in the convection oven. What a disaster!
They were as hard as rocks. White on the outside and brown on the inside. I would like some hints on what I may have done wrong, and how to correct the problem. Thanks.
