Hi Gail
Interesting, deep (or as you say dark) and often misunderstood subject you have chosen to write on.

Are there still major literary works to be translated and if so has the thawing of the Cold War made for easier access? Will you be restricting your writing to literature or will you be commenting on music and dance as well?

Welcome to the Suite. This is a good article. I would like you to think about submitting an article to the "Id to Eternity" event. Know any mad Russians? Rasputin wasn't a writer, but he figures in a lot of literature, and I'm sure he was mad!

I'm in love with Russian Literature. I've read everything but 'War and Peace'. I guess I want to save it ...

RE:Your children's lit -- I don't know about the 'original' -- but my six year old niece wants me to read 'The Snowchild' over and over again.
