» Anastasiya03 - Re: An outstanding article, Anastasiya

Thanks -- I'm glad you liked it smile Hope you come back to check on the articles on all of her sisters... I was so worried that people would only want to hear about Anastasia and the whole murder thing, because everyone is so obsessed with it, don't you think? I know I was for a very long time until I found how wonderful the Romanov family were when they were alive. But you have proven that people really are interested in everyone, not just the supposed survivors!

Thanks again!

Ana,

I feel that the story of Olga has to do with travel. Just reading about her makes me want to pack up and visit Russia. I enjoyed your article and look forward to reading future ones. Keep up the good work.

I'm glad this article serves as a reason to visit Russia!

Some tips on that:
-Visit the Winter Palace and ask one of the staff to show you the Grand Duchesses' rooms. Their furniture, etc., was largely moved out during the Soviet era, and when I visited last summer the Nicholas&Alexandra exhibition had already been taken apart. However, you can see the walls they lived within, the very same windows, with the same decorations on the windowsill and a few marks where pictures used to hang, and I swear when I was in there I could smell perfume! Of course this sounds highly mystical, but hey if you are a romantic like me it's very interesting.

-Visit Peterhoff!! If I am not mistaken, that is where most if not all of the Romanov children were born; Aleksei for sure, and Anastasia.

-The Alexander Palace is there, and if you are lucky they will let you in... It's being repaired right now, but I'm sure that by 2003, when St. Petersburg celebrates its third centennial, the repairs will be finished. At any rate, you can walk their favorite gardens!

Well, I hope you all take advantage of this opportunity!

Thanks again for the great comments on my article.

Thanks for the compliments smile I will now return the compliment, because your pictures are simply great! I hope you do not mind that I have used them? My friends emailed them to me because they knew I was a Romanov fan, so I really didn't know you were the one who made them -- but hey, I love them!

Thanks again, and I hope you check back a lot!

I'm glad you don't mind.

The articles on Marie and Aleksei should be here soon; I'm still waiting for some discussion on Tatiana, though -- you could say she's almost my favorite, and nobody has said much about her, so I'm giving her more time.

Marie is coming towards the end of September, and her article will be entitled "Russian Beauty." Anastasia is incredibly hard to write, though! So hard to pull away from all the mystery and identity stuff. I was thinking of publishing the one about Aleksei first, but then I figured it could mess some people up and make them think that Anastasia was his YOUNGER sister.

Meanwhile, I keep updating the pictures in the published articles, so check them often because I try to improve the way they look as often as I can!!

Thanks again for the great comments, and I hope a lot of people will tell me how to improve my Romanov series.

» BigBlondeBabe - Beautiful!

This was a wonderful article about one of my favorite figures in history. Well done!
And, by any chance, does anybody know where I can get a picture of that pink dressOlgaa wore on her 16th birthday? Or at least, can anybody tell me what it looked like with a little more detail?
