Very interesting! I never really thought about Marie Antoinette much beyond the oft quoted statement,"Let them eat cake" and the fact that she was beheaded. You have given me a fuller picture of her. Now that I see the circumstances of her life, I feel sorry for her. She was definitely much more than what popular history presents. Thank you!

I feel sorry for her too. She made many mistakes but I don't believe she was evil, although she was widely perceived that way at the time. And (as you've probably heard) she never said "Let them eat cake." Yet that myth will forever persist. Very unfair!

I forgot that the "let them eat cake" quote was a myth. I did know it once, but totally forgot. I won't forget it again. It certainly is unfair!
