» Renie_Burghardt - Chelsea Saves the Day Wow, Wendy, what a story. I could just picture you in that situation, you told is so well. Good thing Dingo didn't get hurt, and that Chelsea came to the rescue. Actually, Chelsea was something else, for nut hurting that dog. I don't know how Oscar would have reacted. I know Rottie's use their might, but I'm not sure if he would have used his teeth or not. I guess they are so strong that they don't have to. I hope the owners of that Golden did learn a lesson from the incident, but I doubt it. Some people never learn, until something really serious happens.Great story. Take care. Thanks so much for sharting this story -- it's a great read.Anne -- posted by AnneWatkins » A1_Viking - Hi Wendy - do you have another column here, or is that a differe Hi Wendy - do you have another column here, or is that a different Wendy? Doesn't matter... just wanted to say I enjoyed the story. It's the sort of story, actually, that you'd really like all the panic-merchants of the world to read. How often do we hear about a certain breed attacking another breed not known for its aggressiveness - and dogs like Rotties and Shepherds always get bad publicity! (I used to have Shepherds.)Dingo! What a name! Two dingoes in Australia have killed children recently and attacked an English back-packer. Well, poor old Lindy Chamberlain could have told them dingoes were dangerous! But your "Dingo" sounds rather sweet. Give him a pat from me. The scariest part of it really was that the golden had no fear of me what so ever. I tried to run him off, but he was holding his ground. I could just see this big, young, male getting into a fight with my 9 year old, senior citizen Rottie. But Chelsea really came through for me. -- posted by WMSmith » WMSmith - Re: Hi Wendy - do you have another column here, or is that a dif In response to message posted by A1_Viking:Thanks so much. Actually, Rottweiler Dogs is the only column I do here, although sometimes I do wish I could do more. As for Dingo's name, half of the people who see him say he looks like a dingo, the other half say he looks like a hyena because of his coloring. We decided that "Dingo" sounds much better than "Hey, Hyena, get over here." If you haven't read it already, you would probably get a kick out of "Steve and His SUV" article. BTW, my best friend had an Irish Wolfhound when we were in high school. Great dogs. -- posted by WMSmith
