» barbararottie - rottweiler/black lab puppies
I am thinking seriously about acquiring 3 rottweiler/black lab puppies. I will be living in a trailor with a large yard.there might be some concern that they may be dangerous due to their breed....
my take on it is that I will put them through obedience school as soon as they are old enough.
they are only 4 weeks old, and still drinking imitation milk from a bowl.
any comments would help tremendously.

In response to rottweiler/black lab puppies posted by barbararottie:I've owned a lot of dogs over the years. The Pit Bull I had back in the 80's was just as lovable as is our 120 pound Zeus, my daughter's 3 year old Rottweiler. Dogs aren't as dangerous as people are. A Black Lab/Rotty mix is only as dangerous as you make them. I'm familiar with that mix and can only recall one problem; it concerned a dog that was trained to be obnoxious. Threat them with love and that's what you'll get back!

I just came across your message and was wondering if you got the puppies??? I have a Rott/Lab. Duke will be 3 in May. He was a drop off that I found wandering around my office. So sad he was. Starving, patches of fur missing from the fleas.... You should see him now. He's a big goofy thing that thinks he's Tigger. We have two other dogs, heeler/feist mix and they all get along fine. Oddly enough, Duke is the submissive one of the three. I hope if you did get the puppies, that you've not been disappointed.-- posted by Biker63

In response to rottweiler/black lab puppies posted by barbararottie:I recently adopted a black lab/rottweiler mix. She is a BIG dog, but very very loving, does not seem to know she is a big dog. She had 8 puppies and they are cute as a button, and she is gentle and not aggressive about us holding them. I think the lab in her has made her a good family dog. The "vicious" Rottweiler is a product of bad human raising, in my opinion.
