My article was intended to be a call to action for those who know survivors. There ARE caring people out there who are safe, it's just hard to find them. I went years with a support system of one (my therapist), and it has been very cautiously and carefully that I have reached out and let others into my life. Unfortunately, by then I had done most of my healing! But my article is meant to show support people how they can be helpful, usually through churches.
