» Red - great article...

Henry,

I laughed until I cried reading this article. It was great. Your way of getting exercise and mine sound much the same. I need to get off my duff and get out walking. LOL I do have grandchildren nearby, whom I see at least once a week or more. They are 7 and 5, so they keep me on my toes. Sooo, I get a little exercise every now and then.

Now that the nice weather is here I hope to get out more. Thanks for giving me a good laugh. I really enjoyed my visit. Thanks also for visiting my topic. Please drop by again soon.

» Dan_Ellsworth - Another approach to exercise

My favorite approach to exercise is to play about two hours of volleyball, at intervals of one to four weeks. Not only is the volleyball itself exercise, but 1-3 days of aerobic groaning usually follow. Perhaps this is not the most constructive program for a man approaching 60 -- and overweight -- but it hurts no more than a day of shopping with my wife, and is a lot more fun. OK, let me clarify: My wife can be fun, but not the shopping, not even with her.

Hi Dan:

I'm glad to hear that I'm not the only man in this world that hates to shop. However, walking the aisles at the grocery store does consume a few calaries. As for clothes shopping, that's a fate that should be relegated to those who have sinned -- not angelic souls like you and me. I avoid clothes shopping whenever possible. It involves more standing than moving. I can walk a lot longer than I can stand.

Exercise can be addictive. I used to jog at 6 in the morning and couldn't wait to get out in the park. Now, I walk and carry a camera for balance. With all my grandkids at least 1000 miles away, they aren't around to tax my stamina any more. C'est la vie. I do miss them.

Do you use the spell checker? I find that it creates more errors than it corrects.

Henry,

I used to walk the dog all the time, morning and evening, but since my hubby had his heart attacks and has to walk everyday, he has taken over this task. I do miss it.

I know how much you must miss your grandkids. I would be devastated should mine move 1000 miles away. They are what keeps Grandma going.

No, I don't use the spell checker. I agree that it often makes more mistakes that we do. LOL

Take care and thanks for dropping over to my Canadian Health topic. I enjoyed your kind words.
