» feistyfemale56 - Resolve

Resolve...another great word to add not only to my vocabulary, but to my list of positive attributes to which I aspire. Resolve is certainly important until we have changed an attitude or action so repetitively and with such longevity that the new attitude or action becomes automatic to our mind and body. Whew! Thought I would never spit that all out.

I know that for me, I can only work on one issue at a time, making it the uppermost thing in my mind for a while, because it takes conscious thinking to put away the old and begin to embrace the new. And while I don't have an addiction to alcohol or chemical substance, I do have an addiction to food. It comforts me when I am lonely, works to decrease my anxiety when I am stressed, and feels good at most any other time as well.

For me, the little ditty that I keep in my head to keep me going is this saying: If you always do what you've always done, you'll always get what you always got. And I have decided I no longer want what I have been getting, so I have to change attitudes and actions.

I wish you great success in this 24 hours of life, and begin my 24 hours with resolve to do things in new ways.
