Hi folks! A quick question. In the late 70's a teacher friend showed me a paperback teen fiction novel that first opened up my eyes to child abuse in literature. There was a teen boy and girl in the book. I believe in the end both were out of their homes and maybe in a facility that gave them safety. I remember the boy's dad was a sailor and sexually abused him. It was a very powerful book. I was a new teacher and it sensitized me to this issue and I feel it made me a much better teacher. Anyone have any ideas what the name of this book could be? I would like to read it again and give it to a friend of mine who is about to enter the teaching field. Take care and thanks!!
