» Red - Keeping A Reading Log

Heather, my oldest grandson has kept a reading log since he was 2. Last year he was in Senior Kindergarten and read 100 books between January and June. And those were just the ones he read for school. My daughter and I both encouraged him to read to us, or we read to him.

We have taught him that he can travel the world over between the covers of a good book and he knows that books are his friends. I hope this habit stays with him all of his life. Books enable us to escape the burdens of the world, if only for a short while.

Thanks for submitting this article to the 2nd Annual Childhood Memories Event. It is a great addition to the category, "Fund and Games." This year's graphic is in the Editor's Lounge, or if you drop over to my topic and send me an e-mail, I will mail the code to you.

Thanks for sharing about your grandson's reading log. It's good to know people are keeping such wonderful treasures about books and reading.
