» colleenmwilliams - Heather,

Sorry, I don't leave messages too often. I have been extremely busy the last three months. I am finishing up 3 children's books for an educational publisher. I do read your articles and enjoy them, however. Keep up the good work, your ME-Colleen

In response to message posted by colleenmwilliams:

Heather, I grew up on a farm in rural southern Ontario. That was the best time of my life. I loved all the animals.

Now, I relive those times by telling tales of my childhood to my grandsons, just like grandparents have since the beginning of time. They love to hear stories about different animals that were a part of farm life.

Thanks for sharing this article. I really enjoyed it and the free books are a bonus.

Have a great week.

» Renie_Burghardt - Children and Animals

Hi Heather, I agree, children love animals, whether for real or in books. One of my children's favorite books was "Make Way For Ducklings." I recently found the old copy of the book and gave it to my granddaughter. She loved it, especially since the book used to belong to her mom, when she was her age. Delightful topic. I will alertmy daughter about it as well. Take care.

Renie

My favorites were the Marguerite Henry horse books. (I've subbed to your column!)
