Quilted Tablecloth
This archived discussion is "read only".
» cbgbies - Should I put batting in a pieced tablecloth? I'm making a very large pieced tablecloth to use as a decorative cover on our formal dining room table. I don't expect to use it to eat on, but just to brighten and make the dining room less formal. I will make and apply a backing, but can't decide if I should use a batting or not. It sounds weird to put a quilt on the table, but I tried my bedspread on it, and it looked very nice, so now I can't decide -- if I don't use a batting, could I still quilt it in the ditch? I'd really appreciate any suggestions!-- posted by cbgbies » Skippa - Re: Should I put batting in a pieced tablecloth? In response to Should I put batting in a pieced tablecloth? posted by cbgbies:I am a patchwork and quilting teacher with students who enjoy making table runners and tablecloths. I also have several table runners that I use to brighten up the home. I usually suggest that my students start out with the thinner type of Pellon as a batting or wadding for their projects. I too use the thinner battings depending on the look I want. These give a nice fuller look and you are completely able to quilt the project in any manner you wish. Good luck, -- posted by Skippa
