» Debra L. Stang - Inspirational Quotes

Loved the quotes! Anyone looking for more might want to try "Walking on Alligators: A Book of Meditations for Writers" by Susan Shaughnessy. I'm reading it slowly, one quote a day, as I work on my writing...

» Kassper - I was attempting to tame the paper tiger today (the tiger won),

I was attempting to tame the paper tiger today (the tiger won), and I came across this quote from a creative writing class:

"In every good writer is the willingness to say thta unspeakable thing which everyone else in the house is too coy, or too frightened, or too polite to say." -- Tobias Wolff

» BuckyRea - Excellent quote, Kassandra!

I know for me what got me started in writing was wanting to say what others weren't (or couldn't). Later, after I got around to saying them, they tended to lose their power over everybody. So now I'm able to go back to just saying what I think everyone wants to hear. *Whew!* Glad I got that over with.

(seriously tho, I love that quote--Is Tobias related to any of the other famous Wolffs from literature?)
