And I certainly had no idea Texas was included in the Oregon territory bid at one time. Where were you when I needed a history teacher that could make history shine? This is excellent, John. When are you going to publish your book?

Hi John,
As I was reading this, I thought 'John should publish a book.' Now I see Jerri beat me to the suggestion. Well, a good idea is worth repeating. You tell American History better than anyone -- you ought to publish a book!!

I thoroughly enjoyed this series on Clay. He was a fascinating person. Thank you!

Thanks Jeri and Tina. Your flattering comments made my day. I have no immediate publishing plans, other than to continue writing my weekly articles here on Suite.

I really glad you liked the series on Clay. He has always been my favorite almost-President. I sometimes think it just as well he never made it. The very traits that made him the Great Compromiser would have made him a less than decisive leader as President.

Thanks again for your patronage and support. You two are my best customers.

Stopping in again.

I think you are pretty amazing at telling history so folks enjoy learning it. I'm really serious about a book. Just publish a series of your articles in an e-book, John. It would be a hit. Not much work in that. Your students would love it (and so would I - I'd be a customer).

Thank you for the encouragement. What is an ebook. Sounds like an interesting idea. How would I go about doing something like that? Thanks for any help.
