» FortBrooke1824 - good one one type error mug. With James K. Polk it should have been (1845-1849) not 1959. Since Lincoln also made Thanksgiving Day a national holiday i wonder how Jack felt about it. LOL Knowing Lincoln he probably gave him a pardon. Our other American Presidnet Jefferson Davis had a pet dog named traveler at Beauvoir. By all accounts he was the best dog a man could have. With all of these animals at the White House have you run across any of the pets biting anyone? As you know 150 years ago a person could go right up to the White House and knock on the door and ask to see the president. I have heard the same thing about Jackson's parrot after his death. That is too funny. -- posted by FortBrooke1824
