» jerrib - Definitely food for thought,

John, especially in this coming election. I predict the vice-presidency will be a deciding factor in elections this year. We'll have to wait and see.

Prior to Gore choosing Lieberman I thought he didn't stand a chance because of being in Clinton's shadow. I've changed my thinking and now am sure he will give Bush a run for his money.

What do others think?

I partially agree with my good friend Jerri. I think the choice of Lieberman helped Gore a lot. However, unless he had chosen his VP very foolishly, I think his campaign would have been well positioned to take on Bush anyway. I think Lieberman is a good choice. Of course, I would not have been unhappy, however, if he had made a different choice from his short list of possibles -- Gov Jean Shaheen of NH would have been fine with me as VP candidate! ;-)

This is a very interesting article, John. You are so right, we the voters need to pay close attention to the VP candidates. Thanks!
