This is something I have thought about only through the fact that these companies prey on people who have already been bankrupt. Companies hike up their interest rates knowing that it's harder for bankrupt folks to receive loans. Seems more like a question of morals than anything else, but it would be great if the government could help.

Sub-prime lenders are not the focus here. When you go bankrupt you know that credit is going to cost you more for a while. Predatory lenders are much lower down on the ethics scale than just the sub-prime lenders. Predatory lenders go door to door in poor and minority neighborhoods looking for their victims.

Interesting. I didn't realize people like this existed. I just knew about the sub-prime lenders. Thank you for enlightening me!
