Can you imagine a similar restriction against union picketers in front a business? It would be rejected by courts out of hand.

There IS a similar restriction for striking picketers, Frank. The courts have not rejected that concept! Just as there is also a similar restriction, issued by the courts, on people wanting to disseminate political material at polling places during election day. By rule of the courts they must be a specific distance away. Is this an infringement on their free speech rights? Hardly. Find a better argument rather than one where you insist the courts are too liberal for your liking.
