» greyghost35 - Rebel Flag

What would have happen if the South would have freed the slaves before the war of Northern aggression? We will never know but was the war fought over slavery if you believe so then that is your right. Most history books are written by Yankees in New York City and they tend to make the south during the war look real bad. The civil war was fought over states rights and the fight against big government. Now yes slavery was an issue because the states that broke free from the union were pissed that the pushy Government freed all slaves in the northern states. With the huge influx of immigrants into New York and other Northern ports. Slavery actually cost more to keep going than highering the immigrants so there you go. Did the government feel bad and free the slaves for a good reason? Nope! Now yes I feel the Battle flag of the south has been used in a extremely bad way with hate groups like the KKK and the skin heads and it makes me sick because so many people died in the war that had no ill will towards African Americans at all. Only 10% of Southern people owned slaves. Ullesses S. Grant owned slaves up till the end of the war he was a Yankee general. I am going to end with this and let this soak in. 60,000 African Americans fought for the South during the civil war they were integrated with the white troops. They were paid and fed the same amount as the white soldier. The African Americans that fought for the North were segregated. They were paid half the salary of the white man and were put on the front lines. These are true facts! I had over 80 members of my direct family that fought in the Civil War and I will be dammed to forget it! The Flag to me stands for honor and code. fighting for ones homes, family, and loved ones. I would have done the same. And to the ACLU your life span will be short lived because the Good Lord will return and "Get ready"!

Sincerely,
Craig Elder

Let me tell you something about your history, your pride, your heritage.

Its all hate!

When I was eight years old I moved with my family to Knoxville,TN, and instead of a cheerful welcome I was called a **** yankee!

The civil war is over , it was a history lesson that was bond to happen, The people from the South always try to point out that some people in the North had slaves also.

However the way the 'slaves' in the North were treated differently. In the South people today will talk about different races and when ever African Americans come up the idea is " I wouldn't mind to have a few of those myself..",

When when I moved here the realtors were seperating 'whites' and 'blacks'.

The only few groups of people that are still pro-civil war many live with East TN and AL. Whenever I tell people that I am from Wisconsin, they either feel sorry for me or become extremely hateful. My family has been made up of farmers, and I'm sure that they had little to do with the Civil war. however, since they are north of Kentucky, it makes all the difference.

All I ever here from people around here is "The south will rise again." "We will have what is ours", "We will make our fathers proud".

It has been proven that even if the south had its way, it would have only been a few years before the south would have fallen on its own.

Only in the south will you see an American flag flying below a 'Rebel' flag.
