» katdeee - MAPPING GRIEF

Kara, This article offers lots of helpful advice on understanding one's own grief/healing process! I really like how you give your own tips plus offer ideas from others on "how to" ideas! It's been two years for me into my grief and healing process and I've never followed those books on stages of grief, because it's just not that simple! I can have stage 3 grief when I'm supposed to have stage 10! Or vise versa! I haven't written much in my journal lately about my loss of my sweet baby, but you've certainly given me some ideas to create on! I'm going to try this activity and I'll let you know how it comes along! I hope this month brings you much joy in your life! Take care & keep in touch! Katie smile

Hi Katie! Great to hear from you -- how *are* you?! I really like these mapping exercises just because they break all the barriers and rules of what the "professionals" sometimes venture to tell us our own grief is suppose to look like, feel like, sound like. I write about this a lot, but making visual pieces seems to have a real impact -- maybe people value the "art" process more than the writing process or something, I don't know, but it seems to me that more people have really *gotten* the message in my visual maps where as those same folks didn't get my writing pieces sometimes...??? Hope it creates some great works for you, too-- I'd love to see them... Miracles to you!
