I am delighted you covered this, David. I always introduced Haiku to my third graders and they loved writing it! Every class always enjoyed and had fun in counting syllables, and in a way this is similar. Sometimes they clapped out their Haiku beats. I always find something worthwhile in KK! v

You sound like you're a really fun teacher in the classroom, too. Haiku is a great way to begin writing poetry because you only concentrate on one primary idea, and you don't necessarily have to rhyme. Thanks for stopping by, V.
