» poetnwriter - Re: Re: Re: Hi Ken In response to message posted by arty4:Thanks Aileen, spiritually we all need to reach out to oneanother. Jo needs our prayers at this time...she is carrying a very heavy burden...I wonder how she copes with all the things she has to deal with in life...she is really an amazing woman...I will survive. The African stories and issues still haunt me. Their souls are crying out from beneath the soil. Close your eyes and see their tortured faces. Spiritually we can feel it and identify with their misery. We must do something about it. If only to care and to make others aware. It is difficult to justify our own lifestyles when so many have nothing...not even basic food. And worse they are going to die! It only costs $35 per month to give a family of 5 their basic food for a month. Whats that for smokers? 3 packets of cigarettes! or for those of us who dine out...1 meal if that! We just go about being busy and not even noticing. "Who cares" some say and I want to scream at them for their lack of sensitivity. What I would like to do is to drag them kicking and screaming to meet a little boy or girl who they condemn to such a hideous death by their comment and inaction. I have seen 2 month old babies who are dying. Little children raped and molested to the point where their bodies have been ripped apart. Little boys who have become zombies because of the despair and utter hopelessness. The dying. The starving. The funerals. Where is the justice? Oh Lord where are you when this is happening? It is hard, very very hard...but like others I have seen it first hand and it has moved me and changed my life. My fervent wish is that others will rally to the cause...there is so much that we CAN do if we put our mind to it. I will be addressing this in my next article or the one after it. I do feel guilty though because by the time I get around to it another 100,000 will have died...imagine that...whole towns disappearing. If anyone has some ideas I would like to see some postings. You know that this is worse than any war that has ever been fought...it is even worse than all of them put together. I am going to post some pictures of the children when I figure out how to do it...then lets see how many of those who visit this site can sleep at night...I can't! Sorry to be so morbid Aileen but I am passionate about this. Ken -- posted by poetnwriter
