» bridget1 - Great Review!

Great Stuff, Kay Day. I read the whole thing, so I don't think it is too long, as long as it holds the reader's interest. I like your tenet about not reviewing books you do not like.

In my August column (up Aug 1) I include a report on a poetry reading as part of my Summer Culture experience. Hope you enjoy it as I have enjoyed yours.

» KayDay - Hey, there, J.M.

Thanks for telling me about your column--I will be over to read it directly. I especially enjoy articles about readings, having been sufficiently terrified when I do one. Really appreciate your sharing your thoughts, and hope my readers will visit your fine site!

» CE - Unions

Dear Jim and Kay et. al.,

As a doctor, with the advent of HMO's, despite not practicing at present and having made a private commitment never to strike as an intern, or resident, certainly not as an attending...

I nevertheless applaud the AMA's new position on doctor's unionization for the good of patients, poor sheep being led by MBA's in sparkling silver suits magnetically embracing the lead devil of profit.

One of the reasons that led to my leaving medicine, besides my health (!), was the HMO effect.

So likewise, I applaud the Athens Poetry Group, whose combined publications on the net exceed all others.

Here's to a group of strong links, and may your individual narcissism never take precedence over your shared vision. After all,

» KayDay - Hey, C. E.!

Thanks for visiting--don't even get me started on the HMO thing. I am one of the few non-medical people in my family. My uncle was a doctor for many years; I'm glad he doesn't have to practice today.

Delighted to see you in this neck of the Net--for all my readers: meet the subject of our next article: widely published poet and writer, C. E. Chaffin!

» CE - Errr.. blush

I'm just a GP trying to be a writer, that's all.

» KayDay - Now, CE,

No need to blush. Praise is well deserved. I cannot think of a single poet, except maybe Lifshin, who has published as widely and with the variety, that you have.

But we'll be objective in the article--your work speaks for itself. Sometimes, fans like me just get carried away, that's all.
