As a writer myself and a new editor for a flash fiction zine, I wish more people would focus on the techniques you describe here. Flash fiction often lacks solid plotting. Yes, it's more difficult to do in fewer words, but it IS POSSIBLE. I've just subscribed to your articles and am looking forward to more!

Diane, thank you for your kind words. I'm glad you find my articles of interest. I think many writers simply don't realise what a difference good editing can make to one's work - the difference between amateurism and professionalism.
