how kids who grow up on the computer might be missing an important part of learning, the playing and entertaining themselves part. My grandchildren spend lots of time on the computer and less time just being kids and learning through play.

Glad I got to meet you today. Small world!

I remember a statement by an actor once who said that even if it is just acting, the body remembers it as real! So, I think there is something to be said for how the body learns when it is actively doing rather than sitting and carrying out everything with the mind, a few senses and the hands. Also, as you say, the less we can add our own viewpoints to our activities, the more passive we are taught to become, but then that fits in nicely with an advertising and consumer society - right?

I, too, enjoyed meeting you Jeri...the world just got a teeny bit smaller. Hope we can have that coffee chat soon.

Lin
