Thank you for these articles - I have been reading them with interest. Its funny, I have been taking photos since I was a child, but never regarded photography as one of my hobbies! It has also been adjunct to my other pastimes - photographing horses, dogs, gardens, interior decoration and my daughter.However, since I got my new digital camera it seems that photography has escalated into a hobby in its own right. Being able to enlarge, crop and reprint my photos in my own home, whenever I want, seems to have made the whole activity more absorbing and exciting.

Thanks for the comments and good luck with the new digital camera. Digital really is a great way to enjoy photography and now with the new photo sharing websites it makes life a whole lot easier.
It also makes retouching a lot for fun as well.
