» jerrib - I was surprised

at your title and am even more surprised to know there is such a thing as a Hissing Cockroach. Wow! This would certainly be a low-maintenance pet.

In my research, I discovered that Hissing Cockroaches are quite popular as pets in classrooms. They don't take up much room or eat much food. Colonies are interesting to watch because of the different behaviors.

Maureen, I was hesitant to read this one, but I'm glad I did. These critters are very interesting!

» Mary Trotter Kion - cockroaches

Hi Tina,
This also was great but I got to tell you the joke is on me and I'd better start reading better. I thought I read "Kissing Cockroaches." We had roaches that big when I lived in Hawaii back in the 70d. It was during the gas wars and we use to jokingly say we should just forget the gas and hitch a couple or roaches up to the car.

Thanks,
Mary
